Rubix: Retro A Cappella

"Your show was so much fun! We didn't expect this many people to show up and they all loved it! We are definitely having you back!" --Four Mile Historic Park, Denver, CO

Rubix is an electric blast of earworms, singalongs, and Top 40 hits. Featuring some of the nation's most amazing vocalists and beatboxers, Rubix is the best of modern a cappella: you won't believe there isn't a full band playing. Vocal drums, bass, guitars, horns, and magnificent lead vocals in a nostalgic family-friendly concert experience.

Shows feature a selection of the best music from the last 60 years. Themed shows focus on specific decades, eras, or subjects. You can have an 80s prom, a classic rock sock hop, a modern dance party, a discoteque fever dream... or all of the above!

"You guys are the best music we've had in years!" --Longmont Pride Festival

“This experience was so much fun - from the costumes, to the music, to all the characters of the show (especially the principal), to the dancing, to the images of the 80's projected behind the singers. I *highly* recommend going to the 80's prom and getting your groove on! This show is super family-friendly, too - lots of kiddos were dancing during the performance and it was awesome.” --KJ - boulderfringe.com

80s A Cappella Prom

An interactive time-travelling party event. A great musical performance from Rubix, but add in audience sing- and dance-alongs, contests, prom royalty, flashback slideshows, and YOUR people playing parts in the cast: your CEO as the principal? Office flirt as the homecoming queen? Your child and their friends as the class clown, the nerd, the jock, or your favorite 80s movie character? Bust out your neon threads and Aqua-Net your bangs. This is a party!

“This performance immerses you in the art of its eighties-inspired creators with vibrant vocals, actors integrated in the audience and the decor to boot. Banners, balloons, videos of aerobics and fellow classmates talking up their best times in school, all inspire the sentiment of celebration and dance. You’ll hear all the fresh hits, from The Buggles “Video Killed the Radio Star” to Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello”. Whether it takes you back to your own Prom experience or not Rubix: 80s A Capella Prom will leave you wishing that you could claim the class of ’89 as your own.” --Wes Adams - ALOC Media
